Induction hob – The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in a home since it is where we have everything we need to be able to feed ourselves correctly and in optimal conditions. When we move or make a change or reform in our kitchen, there is an element to which we must pay special attention, the cooktop that we are going to install. Today there are multiple cooktops on the market with which we can give heat to cook our food in pans, saucepans, pots. Among the most prominent or common, are: gas hob, glass ceramic, modular hob, or induction. The latter, the induction hob, is what we are going to talk about in this article to see if it is the best option when cooking at home.
How the induction hob works
The induction hob differs from the rest of the cooking plates in the system from which transfer heat to reach the containers with which cooked. The induction hob works through electrical resistances that are located under the glass-ceramic glass, these resistances heat the glass, and this transmits its heat to the container that we place on top.
Specifically, the induction hob uses an alternating magnetic field that magnetizes the container’s ferromagnetic material in one direction and another. This causes the material to agitate, and the energy it absorbs is given off as heat and heats the container. A consequence of this system, can not be used all kinds of containers for cooking on the induction plates since they must be of a ferromagnetic material, at least in the base. For this reason, aluminum, terracotta, ceramic, glass, or copper containers cannot be used with this type of kitchen.
